Google Profit figures…

Gerald Thulbourn, WebSanity Internet Marketing, HuntingdonAt a Google Analytics training session in Chelmsford yesterday somebody asked me why Google gave away so many tools like Google Analytics for free. My answer was that it helped with their drive for ‘world domination‘, or at least ‘web domination‘ 🙂

Out of interest you can see Google’s profit and revenue figures online.

So, 2010 was $22bn revenue… projecting current Q1 for 2011 that’s looking like $34bn for 2011. (billion as in thousand million)… that will put it as position 85 in the International Monetary Fund ranking of countries ranked by GDP.

That’s why they can afford to give these tools away for free!
