A Peterborough based business owner came to us with a problem: their previous developer had gone AWOL, hadn’t renewed their hosting (that’s the developer’s own web hosting), and their three websites had disappeared and were irretrievable. Their IT support company sorted out emergency holding pages for them, and we then built three very quick, very cheap, very simple websites to get them back online.
Being WordPress websites, the owner could add their own content very easily (cutting costs and time), and they can easily evolve in the future if a more sophisticated design is required or if online eCommerce was seen as an opportunity.
- Help trying to retrieve fragments of old snapshots of websites’ content from the web
- Very quick turn around
- Minimal cost approach
- WordPress Content Management System
- Use of a “responsive design” template across all three sites – to display better on mobile devices by scaling sympathetically
- Interesting custom noticeboard on one of the sites – easily updateable by the client
Putting together quick, cheap websites like this isn’t our core business – we’d have to sell hundreds of websites like this a year to earn a profit – but we are flexible and do like to help local businesses where we can (especially when they’ve been dropped in it by another developer!)
